Paris Saint-Germain began ushering in a new transfer policy last summer. The Ligue 1 champions are focusing on young players eager to make a mark at the club and if they are French and from the Greater Paris Area, it’s even better.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the latest French talent reportedly on the Parisians’ radar is Stade Rennais standout Désiré Doué. The 18-year-old made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and registering six assists.
The production and potential of Doué is generating interest from not only PSG but other top European clubs, too. Sports Zone reported on Tuesday that while his agent is in talks with PSG, the clubs most interested so far are Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Moreover, Arsenal and Manchester United have made initial contact for the teenager, who Transfermarkt put his transfer value at €20 million. The player wants to leave Rennes, but he’s under contract until 2026, so the French side has leverage in attempting to secure a fee that they find suitable.

It will be interesting to see if Doué becomes the latest French talent to join PSG this summer. Perhaps the price tag, considering the number of interested clubs, is too high for the capital club to pay.
