Arsenal and Man City Contact Newcastle Talent as PSG Drops Out of Contention

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly out of the Bruno Guimarães sweepstakes, so this opens the door for other Premier League clubs to swoop in to convince the Brazilian to leave Newcastle United.

According to a recent report from journalist Ben Jacobs, PSG are now no longer in the conversation for Guimarães, and there is no plan to negotiate or trigger the release clause.

While the Magpies can breathe easily with the Parisians out of the mix, the latest information from Jacobs notes in his latest column for CaughtOffside that Manchester City and Arsenal have made contact with the 26-year-old’s camp.

Manchester City are showing the most interest among the potential buyers, while Arsenal like Guimarães, but they’re not planning to activate his release clause. They might consider joining the competition if the price decreases, though.

Jacobs once again emphasizes that PSG have looked into Guimarães but ultimately opted not to pursue him this summer. Instead, they’re directing their efforts towards securing Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

Although the Ligue 1 side is out of the race for the Newcastle star, the capital club want a midfielder and are reportedly monitoring what transpires with Joshua Kimmich, who could leave Bayern Munich.
