Why PSG Won’t Overturn Aggregate Score Against Barcelona, According to Expert

If Paris Saint-Germain wants to reverse their 3-2 aggregate deficit against FC Barcelona, they’ll need to do so on the road. However, one pundit doesn’t believe the French giants have the capability of pulling off such a performance.

The capital club’s defense was an issue in the first-leg loss. After taking a 2-1 lead, they conceded two unanswered goals. As a result, the team will need to fix this issue for next week’s second-leg clash against Barcelona.

RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo wasn’t sold on PSG being the favorite for the encounter and now has serious doubts that the Parisians can turn the situation around on the road. The capital club have yet to have a statement road win this UEFA Champions League season, so it’s understandable to have skepticism.

“On Monday, I made an opinion to say that I did not understand the ambient optimism, that PSG was not the favorite,” Riolo said (h/t Le10Sport). “What PSG couldn’t do in Milan, Newcastle or against Real Sociedad, how do you want them to do it in Barcelona? I’ve been hearing for a month that we are better than Barça in all positions.”

PSG’s path to the semifinals hinges on another outstanding display from Kylian Mbappé in Barcelona, underscoring his crucial role. A solid defense is also imperative. Their Champions League journey could conclude next week if these elements don’t align.
