Kylian Mbappé will reportedly join Real Madrid when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June. However, the Spanish side face two hurdles as they look to wrap up talks with the Frenchman’s camp.
All signs point to the 25-year-old leaving for the Spanish capital as a free agent and while a deal should get done between now and the end of June, there are two hurdles that both parties need to overcome.
According to Relevo (h/t Fichajes), they are still ironing out the final details of the agreement that have not yet been resolved.
The first matter the player’s agent and mother, Fayza Lamari, is dealing with in this case concerns the footballer’s image rights, which remain unresolved. The club sees them as a significant source of income, while the forward seeks to retain a percentage. Meanwhile, there’s speculation that the tax regulations in the Madrid region could favor the player.
Additionally, the forward aims to fulfill his dream of representing France in the Olympic Games after UEFA Euro 2024. However, Real Madrid has already informed the French Football Federation that they are reluctant to release their French players for that event.
With the summer months nearing, it will be interesting to see if both of these matters are resolved and if the two sides reach common ground.
