PSG Pursuing Liverpool Sensation as Kylian Mbappé Replacement Understandable, Says Pundit

In recent weeks, rumors have connected Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool’s standout player, Luis Díaz. However, there’s some uncertainty about how serious PSG’s interest really is. Now, there’s a fresh development in the rumor mill.

The Colombian player is currently under contract until 2027, but Liverpool is not taking any chances. They are eager to secure him a new deal, especially given the considerable interest he’s attracting, showcasing their commitment to the player.

On Tuesday, a report revealed that Díaz hasn’t yet committed to extending his contract with the Premier League club and might leave Liverpool this summer. PSG and Barcelona are showing interest in the Colombian winger, who is currently valued at £75 million.

A Colombian football pundit notes that he sees the 27-year-old as the player the Parisians will bring in to replace Kylian Mbappé.

“I completely buy into Luis Diaz being seen as a ‘franchise player’ for PSG,” ESPN Colombia’s Paulo César Cortés Garzón wrote on X. “It’s a business opportunity for Liverpool, having bought him for €45 million and potentially selling him for €80. Will he replace Mbappé? Will he fill the shoes of the world’s best player?”

It will be interesting to see how the saga plays out and whether PSG does indeed have an interest in Díaz or if his representatives are just using the capital club’s name in contract extension talks.
