PSG Holds Major Advantage Over Barcelona in Champions League Clash, Asserts Coach

The first leg between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain is still a few days away, but the predictions are coming out. The latest analysis comes from Spanish manager Óscar García, who coached in Ligue 1 during his time at Saint-Étienne and Stade de Reims.

Nonetheless, García also came up through Barcelona’s youth system, so he likely sees the matchup from two good perspectives. Despite his ties to the Catalan side, the 50-year-old notes that PSG having Kylian Mbappé is what tilts the matchup in their favor.

“Mbappé is the player with the best present and the brightest immediate future in football, and this means that having him on your team makes a clear difference compared to others,” García told Mundo Deportivo (h/t Le10Sport).

After the 2-0 win over Olympique de Marseille this past weekend, manager Luis Enrique tinkered with the tactical plan. The 53-year-old had Ousmane Dembélé in midfield in a more central role.

Nonetheless, with the first encounter against Barcelona in a few days, the Spanish boss has no desire to show his cards and wants to keep the La Liga team guessing what his tactical plan is for them.
