PSG Maintains Interest in Manchester United Standout Amid Down Season, Expert Says

Paris Saint-Germain will likely be plotting how to replace Kylian Mbappé’s production when he leaves this summer. There are several names in the rumor mill and one of them is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Rashford is having a challenging 2023-24 season, only scoring eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. The Englishman scored 30 goals in 56 total appearances last campaign, so the goals haven’t come for him.

Rashford has experienced peaks and valleys over the last couple of years, but could a change of scenery help him? ESPN’s Rodrigo Fáez spoke with mufcMPB and noted that PSG is interested in the 26-year-old winger.

“Indeed, PSG are monitoring his situation,” Fáez said. “Some other big clubs are monitoring Marcus’s situation because he has everything. I know that in the past, Barcelona [and] Real Madrid were really highly interested on him, but at the same time, they were like, ‘Okay, he belongs to Man United. He’s never going to go out from Man United because they are going to look after him.’ But at the end of these last two, three years, it’s like, ‘Oh, my God,’ he looks a bit stuck with these coaches that he have in the past.”

With Bradley Barcola and Xavi Simons, who can play on the left wing, it’s hard to see PSG pushing for Rashford. Both of these youngsters have high potential, and it would be in the Parisians’ best interest to let them flourish instead of spending money on a player who could impede their growth.
