How Much PSG Benefit Financially After Eliminating Barcelona From Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain are off to the UEFA Champions League semifinals after eliminating FC Barcelona in their quarterfinal tie. Furthermore, the capital club benefits financially from defeating the Catalan side.

A recent report from RMC Sport revealed that qualifying for the semi-finals grants a sporting bonus of €12.5 million from UEFA. This sum, therefore, went to PSG and not to Barça.

Furthermore, progressing in the tournament generates TV rights revenues that accumulate throughout the competition and are disbursed at the end of the season.

Le Parisian reports that PSG have acquired around €120 million after qualifying for the Champions League semifinal. Additionally, the Ligue 1 side could receive € 140 million if the Parisians reach the final.

The French media outlet adds that the summer transfer window promises to be decisive, and this would give PSG even more funds to strengthen the squad.

Barcelona ended up losing out on the €50 million that was promised to each club taking part in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. Due to their underwhelming performance against PSG, Atlético Madrid will step in as the second Spanish representative for the 2025 edition, courtesy of their superior UEFA coefficient.
