On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a tough 3-2 loss against FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup.
Despite Kylian Mbappé not making a significant impact during the game, there are still another 90 minutes to play, so the final outcome remains uncertain. Furthermore, one journalist believes that the Frenchman will perform better in the second leg.
Loic Tanzi from L’Equipe believes that Mbappé will have a better performance in Barcelona, where he’s already registered a hat-trick and help the Parisians advance to the Champions League semifinals.
“I believe in [Mbappé’s] rebound because he is a great player—one of the three best players in the world,” Tanzi said (h/t Paris Fans).
“He is aware that he did not have a great match and that he let his team down against Barcelona in this first match. I want to believe that he will turn around and that he will help his team win in Barcelona.”
Recently, RMC Sport reported that the PSG squad feels perfectly capable of reversing the deficit and making a comeback against Barcelona on Tuesday.
The club is optimistic about this possibility and behind the scenes, manager Luis Enrique has been convinced since the start of this tie that the qualification would be decided at the Montjuïc.
