The Paris Saint-Germain midfield should receive a boost this summer transfer window. Various names are in the rumor mill to make the move to the French capital; one of them is SL Benfica’s João Neves.
However, if the Parisians want to pursue Neves, they face a tough competitor. Record (h/t Sport Witness) reports that Manchester United considers signing Neves a top priority for next season and may be willing to exceed €105 million.
Still, that sum might not be enough. Benfica is determined to retain the youngster, who has a €120 million release clause. The Red Devils may need to make a significant effort to secure his services, which they might do.
The Premier League side have reportedly scouted the 19-year-old several times this season and will once again send an official to watch him tonight in Benfica’s derby against Sporting.
Manchester United are said to be pleased with Neves’ impressive season. As a result, they are now keen to see him alongside Bruno Fernandes in their midfield.
