Manuel Ugarte hit the ground running to start his first season with Paris Saint-Germain. However, midway through Year 1, he began to lose his spot in the starting 11 and now mostly comes off the bench.
The Parisians’ midfield could only become more competitive if they can land a player like Bruno Guimarães. If the Brazilian or a player of his caliber arrives in the French capital, what will happen to players like Ugarte?
La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Juventus are interested in Ugarte and that a loan deal could be on the cards, giving Ugarte a chance to play regularly. PSG have already reached out to several clubs in Italy, including Juventus, but it’s not ruled out.

PSG spent €60 million on the Uruguayan last summer, so sporting advisor Luis Campos sees talent in the midfielder. Nonetheless, Luis Enrique has gone with a midfield that includes Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Fabián Ruiz in big-game matches.
It will be interesting to see how this situation develops and whether a full offseason with PSG helps him and Randal Kolo Muani have a better second season in Paris.
