How PSG Intends to Replace Suspended Superstar Against Barcelona in First Leg

Paris Saint-Germain will have a significant hole in their starting 11 when FC Barcelona visits the Parc des Princes for the first-leg match of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The capital club will have to make do without Achraf Hakimi.

Due to the accumulation of yellow cards, Hakimi will miss the first encounter in the French capital. As a result, PSG must decide how to replace one of the best right-backs in football.

Le Parisien reports three options that manager Luis Enrique is weighing to replace the Morocco international. According to the French media outlet, using Warren Zaïre-Emery as the right-back in the first leg is one choice that the Spanish tactician is considering.

Another option is using Marquinhos, which would free up Nuno Mendes for attacking duties. Finally, the last choice, and one that’s more unlikely to happen, is Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele are also options, but it’s very unlikely to see them start against Barcelona.

Hakimi is a massive loss for the Ligue 1 giants and they’ll miss what he can bring to the attack. Nonetheless, he could have a major say in the second leg to determine how the series plays out.
