The Paris Saint-Germain midfield could look vastly different next season as the capital club revamps the position. Over the last few months, various names have linked players to the Ligue 1 side, one of which is FC Porto standout Alan Varela.
Under sporting advisor Luis Campos, PSG have made it a regular to explore for talent in Portugal. Gonçalo Ramos, Vitinha, and Manuel Ugarte have come over from the Portuguese league, so it’s no surprise that Campos is looking at another player.
Nonetheless, PSG does face a challenge for the 22-year-old Argentine, one of which is Liverpool. The Reds are entering a new era without manager Jürgen Klopp, and the club will need to build a team that suits whoever takes over for the German.
Still, there’s a new club entering this race as Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that Varela was offered to Bayern Munich and is on their list. The German giants are following his development and he is one of several players who are being considered for that position.
However, Plettenberg adds that Varela is interesting for Bayern Munich, but not a top target at the moment, but that can always change in the transfer market.

Porto want any interested club to pay the €70 million release clause for the player, who is under contract until 2028.
