FC Barcelona will have their hands full defensively when they face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. The Catalan side must contain Kylian Mbappé if they want to leave with a favorable result.
The 25-year-old registered a hat trick the last time he played for the Spanish team, so the opposition knows the danger the player can cause them.
As football moves in a new direction with the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi from the European scene, the title of the best player in the world is available, and Mbappé appears ready to take that throne.
Ahead of the first-leg clash, Barcelona forward João Félix spoke to Catalunya Radio (h/t Paris Fans) and noted that the team is facing arguably the best goal scorer in the world right now.
“I love the way he plays, both when he’s on the ball and when he moves into space,” Félix said. “He has quality, he’s very decisive, and he makes the difference. He might be the best forward in the world. I don’t think we should change our defensive approach for one or two players. Football is about duels, and we all need to be good at stopping them and others.”
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can contain the Frenchman or if he has another impressive match against the La Liga side.
