FC Barcelona are still dealing with the UEFA Champions League elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Xavi Hernandez spoke at a press conference on Thursday and showed how he truly felt about the result.

The Catalan side secured a 3-2 win over PSG in the first leg and had a 1-0 lead in the second (4-2 on aggregate). After a red card to Ronald Araújo, leading Barcelona to play with ten men and the Parisians scoring four unanswered goals.

Even though the result saw the Ligue 1 side advance, Xavi remains adamant that his group was the better team in the two legs.

“Tactically, we were better than PSG, both in the first leg and in the second leg,” Xavi told reporters (h/t Sport.fr). “After Ronald’s expulsion, we couldn’t compete. It’s part of the process. It’s very difficult to keep winning. The staff and players have learned a lot. Next year, we will be more competitive.”

PSG will now play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semifinal. The winner of the tie will have the opportunity to advance to the final at Wembley Stadium.

Meanwhile, Xavi and Barcelona recently announced that the Spanish tactician will continue with the club, and it will be interesting if both teams meet in the Champions League’s newest format next season.
