FC Barcelona are coming off a 1-0 win over Las Palmas last weekend to secure three points. However, one player feels that the squad needs to improve ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Catalan side have a small break as they don’t play this weekend ahead of the first leg on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. Meanwhile, the Parisians have a clash on Saturday against Clermont Foot.

Ahead of the first encounter in the French capital, İlkay Gündoğan spoke about how he sees the team heading into a pressure situation. Furthermore, he notes what the team needs to do defensively against the Ligue 1 side.

“I believe that before the break, we were doing well, and I think the last game wasn’t up to the level of the ones we played before the break,” Gündoğan told SPORT. “We could have played better, but it’s also important to have won. If we can play like we did, for example, against Napoli at home or even there, we’ll have a chance in the Champions League.

“I believe that, yes. But, of course, PSG has a great team and great players. We’ll need to especially control the wingers and defend very well to contain them, but we’ll have to do it as a team. If we do, we’ll have a chance.”

Lamine Yamal recently spoke with Mundo Deportivo ahead of the match in the French capital, and he revealed how Barcelona intends to attack the Parisians to ensure they leave with a positive result.

It will be interesting to see how the entire matchup plays out, but both teams are looking for a positive first-leg result before the scene changes to Spain.
