Barcelona, PSG to Clash This Summer for Man City’s €50M Playmaker

Manchester City standout Bernardo Silva appears to be leaving the Premier League club this summer. The Portuguese player nearly left last year but remained with Pep Guardiola and his team for this campaign.

However, with Manchester City eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, his future is back in the spotlight. Catalunya Ràdio reports (h/t Diario AS) that Silva has practically decided to leave Manchester City this summer and maintains FC Barcelona is option No. 1.

Silva, who will turn 30 this summer, signed in his last renewal with Manchester City a release clause of €50 million that could be affordable for Barcelona if they make some major transfers.

With family in Barcelona, the veteran playmaker reportedly prioritizes the Blaugrana team and La Liga. However, the Catalan side faces competition, especially from Paris Saint Germain.

On the Tot Costa program of Catalunya Ràdio, journalist Oriol Domènech stated that the French club already tried to sign him last season and will try again this summer. The key may be in the hands of Jorge Mendes, who has a good relationship with sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Additionally, Campos has a relationship with Silva as PSG’s club chief brought him over to AS Monaco. It will be interesting to see if either Barcelona or PSG come out on top in this race.
