Barcelona Superstar Cautions Team Against Facing a ‘Fully Commited’ PSG

Barcelona will have a 3-2 aggregate advantage heading into the second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. The capital club will look to overturn the situation while the Spanish side intends to hold firm with their lead.

Ahead of the final 90 minutes, Barcelona midfielder Pedri spoke with the media at his press conference. The 21-year-old believes that PSG will be a more balanced team due to Achraf Hakimi returning to the starting 11 after serving his suspension. As a result, the midfielder issued a caution to his teammates.

“I believe that we are two very balanced teams and that it will be a great match for the spectators,” Pedri told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “Everyone loves to talk about favorites, but we’ll just try to do our best to come out on top.

“We need to be cautious because PSG will be fully committed. They will try to turn the tables, and it’s true that we have that advantage, but we’ll have to be Paris’ nemesis. In Paris, we managed to turn the tables, and we deserve a lot of credit for what we achieved.”

Even though Pedri has come off the bench in his last two games against PSG and Cadiz, it’s reported that he’ll finally get the start. SPORT recently reported that Xavi has already decided the starting 11 to face PSG at home and Pedri will start.

Furthermore, the Spanish media outlet notes that İlkay Gündoğan and Frenkie de Jong will be the double pivot against PSG. As a result, Pedri will play with more attacking freedom between the lines.
