FC Barcelona will have their hands full defensively when they face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. The Catalan side must contain Kylian Mbappé or Ousmane Dembélé if they want to leave with a favorable result.
While Dembélé hasn’t been much of a goal-scoring threat this season, the Frenchman is carving out his niche as a creator. As a result, Barcelona will need to be mindful of the scoring chances that could come from their former player.
As for Mbappé, the 25-year-old is PSG’s biggest scoring threat and the La Liga team will have to be aware of where the forward is on the pitch. One of the players tasked with helping defend Mbappé is Jules Koundé, and on Tuesday, he spoke with reporters about which player will pose the most issues.
“These are two very good players, each with different qualities,” Koundé told the media (h/t Canal Supporters). “They are both very impactful, capable of eliminating opponents. They know how to make differences, Ousmane has a slightly more dribbling style than Mbappé.”
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona’s defense can contain PSG’s attack to ensure that they have the advantage when the scene shifts to Spain.
