AC Milan and Arsenal Transfer Target Should Be on PSG’s Radar, Expert Says

As the summer months approach, Paris Saint-Germain will likely be keen on bolstering its midfield. The French giants will be linked to various players, including AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.

The 25-year-old could be on the move, with the Frenchman generating interest from AC Milan and Arsenal. However, a recent report revealed that the Parisians aren’t keen on the Monaco standout.

In an exclusive interview with PSG Talk, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson weighed in on whether the Ligue 1 giants should be keen on Fofana or whether the club should look elsewhere to improve their midfield.

“I certainly think he’s an interesting profile,” Johnson said. “There is an expectation every year that Monaco will cash in on one of their more saleable assets, and Fofana certainly is one of those, if not the main one. At this moment in time, no shortage of interest, obviously. The likes of Milan [and] Arsenal have also been linked with him.

I‘m not sure that Monaco will be able to cash in on Fofana in the same way that they have some of their other players in the past, certainly, the likes of [Aurélien] Tchouaméni a couple of years ago when he went to Real. So I think in that respect, PSG could be interested in Fofana, with a view to potentially being able to acquire a very high-quality piece and not necessarily pay as much as, say, an alternative target like a Bruno Guimarães.”

Fofana, valued at €28 million by Transfmarkt, has played in 31 games, scoring three goals and providing three assists. While there’s a chance PSG might opt to bolster the midfield with a top-tier player, it seems Fofana isn’t a player that the squad wants. Still, this all could change once the summer transfer window opens in a few of weeks.
