Kylian Mbappé will reportedly sign with Real Madrid once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. While the Spanish side is the logical choice, he puts pressure on them to ensure his demands are met.
“From what I’m told, one reason the deal is still to be signed on the dotted line is related to his Olympic participation, and other various moveable parts,” Johnson wrote in his column for CaughtOffside. “It’s also been reported that Mbappé’s entourage have sounded out the likes of Manchester City, and my understanding is that they are a group of very switched-on individuals who know the kind of leverage they have with a player of Mbappé’s calibre. So sounding out some of the biggest clubs, like Man City in order to extrapolate the best offer they can out of Real Madrid is a no-brainer.
“This allows them to go to the table armed with the knowledge of what other clubs would be willing to pay for him, but it doesn’t mean that the intention was to seriously consider a move to anywhere other than Real Madrid; it was just to get the best contract possible.”
Furthermore, this might not be the only request the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has. A recent report notes that Mbappé has asked Florentino Pérez to try to bring Hakimi to Real Madrid this year. Additionally, their reporting notes that the PSG defender is crazy to return to Los Blancos.
No other media have confirmed this information. Nonetheless, it would fit with the search that the Merengue club is carrying out for the right back in 2025. The Moroccan’s contract with the Parisians expires in 2026, so these next couple of years will be interesting to follow.
