Kylian Mbappé will reportedly be arriving this summer to join Real Madrid. As a result, there’s speculation as to whether a player in the Spanish team’s current attack might have to depart.
All eyes are on Rodrygo, who could see a reduced role with the Frenchman coming to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Nonetheless, manager Carlo Ancelotti gave the Brazilian a vote of confidence amid the speculation going on in the media.
“His story here has been one of success so far,” Ancelotti said about Rodrygo (h/t Bernabeu Digital). “It allowed us to win the Champions League two years ago, and he has always contributed. This year, he hasn’t had the continuity to score, but he has in terms of work and performance. When we need goals, Rodrygo will be there.”
A recent report from Diario AS notes that the Spanish giant does not want to sell any attacking players. The signing of Mbappé, if completed, will only mean extra reinforcement for a most fearsome forward line.
If all players currently in Real Madrid’s attack are content with staying, they’ll have to sacrifice either playing out of position or seeing their minutes reduced. Nonetheless, could a team come to the La Liga side with an offer that Los Blancos cannot refuse? That’s also a possibility.
