Paris Saint-Germain settled for a 2-2 draw against Stade de Reims on Sunday at the Parc des Princes, but many supporters will see it as two points thrown away.
In the seventh minute, Reims went on the attack. Junya Ito played a long diagonal pass into PSG’s box for Oumar Diakité. The pass appeared to be close enough to Keylor Navas to collect, but he let it run with Achraf Hakimi tracking back.
The Morrocco international found himself in some trouble with Diakité applying significant pressure. Hakimi eventually lost possession near the side of his own goal, and Diakité picked out Marshall Munetsi for the easy goal to open up the scoring.

Hakimi came up through the Real Madrid academy and has played for Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and now PSG in his career. However, recent reports from Mundo Deportivo indicate that Hakimi would be open to a return to Real Madrid, where he would join his current teammate, Kylian Mbappé, who is also rumored to be heading to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Hakimi’s contract expires in 2026, so if PSG wants a sizeable transfer fee, they’ll likely have to part ways with the speedy right-back this summer. His departure would further cement PSG’s new sporting mission, which is to develop youth players and develop a strong core instead of relying on superstars.
However, mistakes like the one he made today won’t ingratiate Hakimi to Real Madrid supporters.
