Real Madrid Leads PSG, Barcelona in the Race to Sign River Plate’s Wonderkid

Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, traveled to South America during the January transfer window to secure two promising young talents, Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo.

Could the Portuguese club chief return to South America again this summer to land another jewel from the region? According to TNT Sports Argentina, PSG are among the European teams vying for River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono.

The outlet notes that FC Barcelona and PSG have shown initial interest, but the list of potential candidates for the 16-year-old Argentine is much broader, with Real Madrid taking center stage.

Furthermore, Real Madrid seems very interested in Mastantuono and could make an offer to sign him when he turns 18. If Los Blancos do win the sweepstakes, they aim to continue Mastantuono’s development at River Plate through 2025 and negotiate by mid-2025.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Benfica, and Inter are also in the running. The race to sign Mastantuono will be intense, and it will be interesting to see if PSG can come out on top.
