Paris Saint-Germain wants to lock up Warren Zaire-Emery to a long-term contract. The teenager has come into his own this season, and the capital club wants him to be the center of their project.
Under contract until June 2025, Zaire-Emery is still in discussions for a contract extension with PSG. Negotiations are progressing well for the midfielder, who turns 18 this Friday.
However, RMC Sport reported on Thursday that there is still no total agreement between all parties involved. Contrary to a rumor circulating since January, he will not sign his new contract this Friday, which also happens to be his birthday. However, this extension includes a significant salary increase.
Proof of the importance of this matter: Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is closely monitoring the situation and following the discussions. Zaire-Emery’s agent is the famous and highly influential Jorge Mendes. His case is the club’s priority, as they genuinely want to secure their prospect, whom Paris relies heavily on for the present and future.
“My contract extension? Honestly, it’s something I don’t really focus on,” the player told RMC Sport on Tuesday after PSG qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals. “I’m turning 18 and I’m very happy. Now I’ll just keep focusing on what I do on the pitch and give my best for Paris Saint-Germain.”
