Paris Saint-Germain will likely lose Kylian Mbappé in a few months when his contract with the capital expires in June. Many expect him to join Real Madrid, and one player in Ligue 1 believes it’s a significant blow for the league.

Over the last few years, Ligue 1 has lost major superstars like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Zlatan Ibrahimović. The next star to leave is Mbappé, and Montpellier HSC’s Arnaud Nordin believes that the Frenchman’s departure is a blow for France’s top flight.

“Of course, in Ligue 1, we want to have the best,” Nordin told Le Parisien (h/t Le10Sport). “It has already hurt us to lose Neymar, Messi or even, a few years ago, Zlatan. Afterwards, if it was his dream to be able to play… wherever he wanted, I would be happy for him, because he deserves it. He has already left his mark on French football and our league.”

There’s no official confirmation of the signing just yet, but many expect that it’s only a matter of time before the Frenchman joins the Spanish capital. MARCA’s José Félix Díaz shared the latest updates on the Mbappé saga, which is expected to conclude in a few months.

Díaz reports that Real Madrid is already preparing for the French star’s potential arrival, considering his type of player and how he would fit into their star-studded dressing room.
