PSG Stifled to Home Draw as Mbappé Benched Again

Paris Saint-Germain, currently leading the French league, settled for a 2-2 draw against Reims in their home fixture. At the same time, Kylian Mbappé remained on the sidelines for the second consecutive league match.

On Sunday, PSG, the team that won the championship last time, ended up in a tie for the third game in a row. The game ended with both teams having the same score. People noticed that PSG wasn’t scoring as many goals as they usually do, and many think it’s because Mbappé wasn’t playing. Mbappé is a fantastic player who helps the team score a lot, and without him, PSG didn’t do as well in their game. We can’t say that fans who are betting on football online weren’t disturbed by this.

Mbappé entered the fray in the 73rd minute with the score tied at 2-2 but failed to increase his tally of 21 league goals.

Shortly after his arrival, Mbappé narrowly missed a curling shot, mistimed a bicycle kick attempt, and expressed frustration after the goalkeeper saved his shot from 20 meters.

With nine matches remaining, PSG maintains a comfortable 10-point lead over second-placed Brest.

Mbappé scored twice on Tuesday, helping PSG win 2-1 against Real Sociedad and move on to the Champions League quarter-finals. Coach Luis Enrique is changing the team lineup because Mbappé might leave this summer, preparing the team for next season.

Enrique emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum despite PSG’s commanding lead.

“The sooner we clinch the league title, the better,” remarked the Spaniard. “We cannot afford to drop points.”

In the seventh minute, Reims took the lead because Achraf Hakimi, playing on the right side of the defense, made a mistake and lost the ball near the goal, which let Marshall Munetsi score.

PSG leveled the score ten minutes later when Reims captain Yunis Abdelhamid inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a corner.

Gonçalo Ramos gave PSG a 2-1 advantage in the 19th minute after Reims failed to clear a cross, presenting him with a favorable opportunity.

The visitors restored parity just before halftime when Emmanuel Agbadou’s pass found striker Oumar Diakite, whose shot eluded goalkeeper Keylor Navas and nestled into the net via the post.
