When Ousmane Dembélé left FC Barcelona last summer, it was likely a decision to play alongside Kylian Mbappé at Paris Saint-Germain. However, the 25-year-old is now on his way out in June, when his contract expires, to probably join Real Madrid.
As a result, speculation could arise that perhaps the 26-year-old would want out of PSG if Mbappé does leave. Nonetheless, Dembélé has no desire to leave the French capital after one season.
Le Parisien reports (h/t Le10Sport) that the Frenchman has decided to stay in Paris, even though his great friend opts to leave and continue his career elsewhere this summer, as all signs point to Real Madrid.
The move to PSG has helped the former FC Barcelona star get his career back on track after injuries affected his tenure with the Spanish club.
CBS Sports journalist Jonathan Johnson noted that off-the-pitch influences have helped the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner stay healthy and avoid injuries this season in Paris.
“I think first and foremost the big difference for Dembélé is he’s a lot more mature now than he was at Barca, but also at Dortmund as well,” Johnson told PSG Talk.
