Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha was recently in the news as a report connected the Portugal international to Chelsea. The former FC Porto star is experiencing an excellent season under new manager Luis Enrique.
As a result, it comes as no surprise that a Premier League club like Chelsea are poking around to see whether the midfielder would have an interest in leaving the French capital for London.
Nonetheless, in an interview with Mais Futebol, Vitinha noted that he’s happy with PSG. The 24-year-old’s response might lead many to believe that he has no interest in leaving PSG and wants to be part of what they’re building.
“I feel very good at PSG,” Vitinha said (h/t Canal Supporters). “I am happy here. It’s a very demanding club, much like FC Porto. The strong Portuguese community in France? Yes, I confirm.
“It’s a very large community, and at PSG, having Nuno Mendes and Danilo Pereira has facilitated my adaptation. Gonçalo [Ramos] will say the same thing. It’s always a bonus to have Portuguese people who welcome us and help us.”
Still, the transfer market can change, and nothing is set in stone if Chelsea or any other club decides to make an offer to Vitinha that will see him as the center of their midfield. At PSG, reports suggest that the position will see one or two additions this summer.
