PSG Manager Reacts to Possibly Facing Barcelona, Real Madrid in UCL Quarterfinals

The lineup for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals is now confirmed, with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid securing their spots after successfully progressing from the Round of 16.

PSG manager Luis Enrique has already faced one Spanish club. Could the Parisians draw another? After defeating OGC Nice in the Coupe de France quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, the 53-year-old was asked about the prospects of facing Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, or Real Madrid.

“In life, you can’t decide,” Enrique told beIN Sports (h/t Paris Fans). “There are four Spanish coaches, there are three Spanish clubs, there is a French coach, all the draws are good.”

Any draw presents an interesting matchup for PSG, but there are obvious favorable draws that can benefit Enrique and his team. Which club would present the Parisians with the best chance to reach the semifinals? CBS Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes it’s Barcelona.

Considering the off-the-pitch storylines that should follow over the two-leg matchup, it will be interesting to see if PSG draws either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid isn’t a bad draw either, but that matchup won’t have much drama.
