PSG Prepared to Battle Liverpool, Manchester United for Benfica Standout with €120M Release Clause

The Paris Saint-Germain midfield could receive this summer as the capital club builds a post-Kylian Mbappé team. Over the last few months, various targets have been floating in connection to the Parisians; the latest name is SL Benfica’s João Neves.

Neves fits the profile that PSG are pursuing, which is young and have a high upside. Over the last two transfer windows, players like Bradley Barcloa, Lucas Beraldo, and Manuel Ugarte have come into the squad—players in their early 20s who have yet to hit their prime years.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports that the Ligue 1 side are following the situation of Neves very carefully. Furthermore, the information reveals that other clubs like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also interested.

The teenager has a release clause worth €120 million but doesn’t mention whether Benfica are open to negotiating the price. Benfica and PSG do have a positive working relationship as sporting advisor Luis Campos helped bring Gonçalo Ramos last summer.

Neves is under contract until 2028, so Benfica hold the power in any negotiating talks.
