It’s been reported that Paris Saint-Germain is closely watching two promising youngsters from FC Barcelona. Apparently, the club sent a scout to observe Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí during the Barcelona – Napoli match.
Of the two youngsters, Cubarsí, whose contract runs until 2026, is the likely target. The Parisians are rejuvenating the center-back role, and he’s affordable. Reports suggest that the defender’s current contract has a release clause of around €10 million. As a result, he’d be a bargain for any club.
However, PSG does face competition for the 17-year-old, as Sport reports that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all monitoring the teen defender. These next few months should be interesting to see if another European club can lure him away from the Spanish side.
Barcelona have been in talks with Cubarsi’s entourage over a new contract, and an offer is already on the table. Could the player take it, or will his camp choose to listen to other offers?
