PSG Not Crafting €200M Strategy to Entice Barcelona Wonderkid, Report Says

Paris Saint-Germain will have money to spend this summer with the reported departure of Kylian Mbappé. The 25-year-old, who many expect to join Real Madrid, has his contract expiring in June and intends to leave as a free agent.

As a result, the Parisians need to replace the Frenchman’s production. On Sunday, MARCA reported that a new name surfaced: FC Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. The club’s keen interest in Yamal truly reflects their ambition, evident in their whopping €200 million bid for the 16-year-old sensation.

This significant sum speaks to Yamal’s promising talent and underscores PSG’s resolve to make a bold statement in the transfer market. It follows closely behind the record-breaking signing of Neymar from Barcelona for €222 million.

However, French outlet Foot Mercato reports that PSG did not make an offer for Yamal and are currently working on other stuff. As a result, the information might have come from the player’s camp to lay the groundwork for a contract extension despite having a deal until 2026.

PSG also relies on several talented young players, so investing such a hefty sum in a 16-year-old wouldn’t be logical.
