PSG Aims to Emulate Recipe for Success of Liverpool and Manchester City, Expert Says

Paris Saint-Germain could be looking to replicate what Liverpool FC and Manchester City have created regarding having managers who are the face of the club.

For many football fans, Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola stand out as the two key figures associated with Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively, over the years. Klopp has led the Reds to international and domestic success, while Guardiola has similarly guided City to glory on both fronts.

As a result, Le Parisien journalist Laurent Perrin notes that PSG wants to follow this recipe to success with manager Luis Enrique.

“The leaders are happy with his work. Very happy. They envision a very long-term collaboration, like Klopp at Liverpool, Simeone at Atletico, or Guardiola at City,” Perrin wrote (h/t Le10Sport). “Nasser has wanted this for a very long time. But he often had to comply with Doha’s decisions.”

In the past, the capital club swiftly cycled through managers and has not yet found a steady figure to lead the project on the sidelines. The decision is ideal, given PSG’s shift towards a new approach, distancing themselves from superstar personas.

It will be intriguing to observe whether the Ligue 1 team can match the success of the two Premier League clubs. Nevertheless, this consideration is a positive development.
