Paris Saint-Germain could venture into the transfer market to replace Kylian Mbappé’s production and one of the targets that the Parisians could pursue is Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The capital club does face competition for the 23-year-old as he’s also on the radar of Liverpool, Barcelona, and Chelsea. Napoli understands that the winger has a lot of interest and wants to tie him down to a new contract.
Calciomercato (h/t ESPN) reports that contact has restarted between Napoli and the representatives of Kvaratskhelia over a new contract.
Reports indicate that discussions started earlier this year. However, although the Serie A club are optimistic about extending the contract for the Georgian player, there seems to be a gap between both sides regarding salary negotiations.
A recent report from Italy reports that Napoli are ready to hand Kvaratskhelia a contract extension that contains a significant release clause, like that of teammate Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker signed a new contract with a €130 million release clause.
Kvaratskhelia has been in positive form of late, having contributed to six goals in his last 10 matches across all competitions.
