Many anticipate Kylian Mbappé’s signing with Real Madrid, marking the conclusion of one of modern football’s most tiresome transfer sagas. The 25-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June, so the capital club must decide what’s next.
PSG will have money to spend to bolster the team and prepare for life without Mbappé. The Parisians must ponder whether they want to use the money saved from not paying the Frenchman to land another forward.
Among the rumored attackers that the Ligue 1 team could pursue is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. The capital club’s renewed interest in Rashford has emerged after recent summer flirting.
However, it doesn’t appear the French giants are looking to lure the Englishman away from Old Trafford. Journalist Julien Laurens disclosed PSG’s priority for two other Premier League stars over the Manchester United forward.
“At the moment, Rashford is not in the shortlist that PSG have drawn up,” Laurens told talkSPORT. “They had a plan in case Kylian was leaving. Also a young defender from France, Leny Yoro, who’s only 18 but who is maybe the most gifted player of his generation that a lot of English clubs are also following.
“Right now, this is the shortlist. Ideally, then could sign two of those five, maybe one, maybe three. It depends on a lot of things.”
It will be interesting to see what the Parisians decide to do but expect a really young squad next season.
