Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee is thriving under former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta, who has the Italian team dreaming of the UEFA Champions League next season. Nonetheless, the young striker draws much interest from top European clubs.
Zirkzee is having a breakout season with the surprising Bologna side, who are in fourth place in Serie A. The player has 11 goals and six assists in 29 appearances for the Italian side across all competitions.
PSG and Arsenal both have their eyes on the 22-year-old player, but another Premier League club could enter the race for the Dutchman. Tuttosport reports that Manchester United has entered the race to potentially sign Zirkzee, joining the growing list of interested teams.
Regarding the expense, the Italian media outlet suggests securing the Bologna star could require a €60 million bid.
The young striker came up through Bayern Munich’s youth system and made his first-team debut in December 2019 against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League final group stage match. Afterward, he went on loan to Parma and Anderlecht before finding a permanent place at Bologna.
