Man City, PSG Suffer Transfer Blow as Target Hints at Staying with Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain aims to bolster their midfield this summer, preparing for a potential future without Kylian Mbappé. Rumors suggest Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich could enhance the position.

Ben Jacobs’s recent column on CaughtOffside pointed out that Manchester City and Liverpool are interested in the veteran midfielder. Kimmich’s name was also mentioned as a possible target for PSG during the January transfer window.

However, any club interested in Kimmich might have had their hopes dashed with the 29-year-old’s recent remarks. The German international notes his desire to remain with Bayern Munich as the team will undergo a change in the managerial position, with Thomas Tuchel leaving at the end of the season.

“My contract is still valid until 2025, I want to show my best for this club and then we will see what happens,” Kimmich said. (h/t GOAL). “For sure I’m happy here, I’m happy with club and city of course.”

There’s speculation that with Tuchel leaving, the versatile midfielder is reconsidering his future. Nonetheless, if Kimmich remains with the Bundesliga side, PSG must cross him off their list of targets and look at other files to bolster the group for next season.
