Enrique ‘Right Person’ for Mbappe’s Looming Exit to Real Madrid, Ex-Barca Star Says

Paris Saint-Germain will undergo a drastic change this summer as Kylian Mbappé reportedly leaves his hometown club when his contract expires in June to likely join Real Madrid. Such a change would affect nearly every manager except for Luis Enrique.

If the Parisians had anyone else at the helm that wasn’t Enrique, there might be an issue. However, former FC Barcelona standout Andrés Iniesta believes that the 53-year-old is the right man to make this transition.

“Luis Enrique is the right person to handle Mbappé’s departure,” Iniesta told La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Bernabéu Digital). “Nothing surprises him; he’s straightforward and knows what he wants, as well as what’s best for the team. His decisions consistently reflect that.”

Enrique is beginning to irritate the Spanish media with his answers to questions about Mbappé’s future. While most in the football media want to talk about the Frenchman’s exit, the Spanish tactician isn’t concerned with their questions.

The PSG manager often doesn’t take the question seriously, sometimes laughing, joking, or smiling while hinting that the 25-year-old is leaving the French capital when his contract expires in June.

He’s already drawing some wrath in Spain, which might explain why Enrique is the best person to help with this transition. Furthermore, Iniesta had the PSG boss as his manager at Barcelona, so he’d know best.
