Luis Enrique Urges PSG Superstar to Stay Amid Rumored Real Madrid Transfer

The situation regarding Kylian Mbappé is that the Paris Saint-Germain star will reportedly join Real Madrid when his contract expires in June. However, manager Luis Enrique issued an honest plea to the Frenchman, hoping he will continue with his hometown club.

Mbappé hasn’t announced any decision about his future. However, the Spanish tactician made it clear that if the Parisians have a historic run to cap off this 2023-24 season, he would like to see the 25-year-old remain.

“Last Classique tonight for Mbappé? Who said that?” Enrique told Prime Video. “I keep my hope about Mbappé staying at PSG. He hasn’t announced anything yet… he can change his mind, no? Imagine if we win four titles and Mbappé decides to stay at PSG… why not?”

It will be interesting to see if PSG does win the treble this season as they’re in a prime position to do so. In the UEFA Champions League they have FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals and whoever wins that matchup will get the winner of Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund.

PSG have their Coupe de France semifinal matchup against Stade Rennais on Wednesday, so they can punch their ticket to the final. Furthermore, the capital club also holds a 10-point lead over second-place AS Monaco in the race for the Ligue 1 title.

Nonetheless, Mbappé could see these trophies as a parting gift for PSG so he can begin a new chapter of his career. Still, it seems Enrique might be making a hail-mary type of statement to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
