Liverpool’s Luis Díaz is one of the names linked to Paris Saint-Germain over the last few weeks. Recently, the Colombian player’s father spoke about his son’s future, noting that the winger loves Liverpool but left the door open for a potential exit.

Last week, a report from Foot Mercato noted that Díaz is Qatar’s priority to bolster PSG’s attack, and contacts have already been established with the player’s agent.

Nonetheless, another report revealed that PSG are not considering Díaz as a replacement for Mbappé. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest on Díaz and what the future holds for the former FC Porto standout.

“Some fans may have raised an eyebrow after comments from Luis Diaz’s father hinting that he and his son would like to see him play for a top Spanish club, but I’d not look at Luis’s father words like something negative,” Romano said in his CaughtOffside column.

“He was just replying to questions about Spanish clubs wanting his son in the past, and he was keeping options open for the future, it’s something normal, but Diaz is happy at Liverpool, super committed and he’s showing that in every single game. I don’t see any big chaos into those words, honestly.”

For PSG, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé will hold down the wing roles when Mbappé leaves, so it never made sense to splash a high transfer fee on a player who might not start next season. Still, in the transfer window, the situation can change, and anything is possible, so nothing can be totally ruled out.
