Fabrizio Romano Shares Latest on Arsenal, PSG Target As Summer Exit Looms

The pending departure of Kylian Mbappé could lead to Paris Saint-Germain opting to jump into the forward market to aid them in replacing the 25-year-old’s production next season.

Reports suggest that Mbappé’s departure is imminent in June upon the expiry of his contract, with a probable move to Real Madrid on the horizon. As for PSG, they must ponder whether they’ll splash the cash to replace him or go with players they already have.

One player the Parisians could consider is Napoli standout Victor Osimhen. Many expect the Nigerian striker to be on the move this summer, with the Serie A side hoping a club triggers his €130 million release clause.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding the 25-year-old’s future in his recent column for CaughtOffside. If the Parisians want the goal scorer, they must beat out two Premier League clubs.

“Victor Osimhen continues to dominate headlines, and it’s not surprising as he’s doing fantastic for Napoli, but there’s not really anything new happening just yet,” Romano wrote.

“We have been speaking about PSG, Arsenal and Chelsea for months…For sure, these clubs are interested, I don’t think it’s new. It’s going to be important to see who is going to make concrete steps to sign Osimhen, but at the moment we’re not at that stage yet; and it’s the same on player side.”

It will be interesting to see if the capital decides it wants to spend a lot on a forward. Still, Osimhen’s arrival would mean the departure of either Randal Kolo Muani or Gonçalo Ramos.
