Ex-PSG Coach Tipped for Shocking Comeback to Chelsea After Debacle Stint at Bayern

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel will depart Bayern Munich following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. The German tactician, who guided the capital club to a UEFA Champions League final in 2020, encountered challenges upon returning to Germany.

Nonetheless, Tuchel has the cache of reaching two Champions League finals and winning one with Chelsea in 2021, so other clubs will pursue him, including the Blues.

SportBILD reports (h/t GOAL) that Tuchel will consider returning to Chelsea only if co-owner Todd Boehly takes steps to repair their relationship and extend an olive branch to the German coach.

The information also reveals that Tuchel is open to resuming managerial duties but is also considering a sabbatical. Yet, he’s prepared to embark on a new coaching role if the right opportunity arises.

Tuchel’s first tenure at Chelsea abruptly ended when Todd Boehly & Co. unceremoniously ousted him within weeks into the 2022-23 season. Under mounting scrutiny of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure at Chelsea, attention has focused on Tuchel’s potential return to the club.

Nonetheless, before the 50-year-old leaves Bayern Munich, he could return to Paris. PSG could draw the Bundesliga side in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals as both teams advanced past the Round of 16 this week.
