Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract with the capital club expires. The expectation is that the Frenchman will sign with Real Madrid, which a footballing legend approves of.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario spoke about the potential arrival of Mbappé at Real Madrid this summer. The 2002 FIFA World Cup winner notes that playing with the Spanish side presents the 25-year-old with a greater chance to the Ballon d’Or.
“I believe it’s a very good option for him, and he’ll ultimately win the Ballon d’Or if he joins Real Madrid,” Ronaldo said (h/t Bernabéu Digital).
Ronaldo also stated that moving to Real Madrid could protect Mbappé from what comes with having the title of being the best player in the world.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for him, and he’ll finally win the Ballon d’Or if he joins Real Madrid,” Ronaldo added. “Surely, at Madrid, he’ll have a team that supports him in every decision he makes, both on and off the field. They’ll protect him. But I think he had a great time at PSG.”
While many players like Ronaldo are open to talking about the reports of the winger, manager Luis Enrique isn’t one of them. The Spanish manager has gone out of his way to joke or mock reporters over their questions regarding Mbappé’s future.
As a result, he’s beginning to draw the wrath of Spain as one pundit shows how he truly feels.
