FC Barcelona will be in the market for a new manager this summer as Xavi Hernandez leaves at the end of the 2023-24 season. Ideally, the Spanish side would like Paris Saint-Germain’s coach to lead the team from the sidelines.

Sporting director Deco aims to recreate the magic of Luis Enrique’s successful stint with Barcelona. The tenure saw him win the UEFA Champions League in 2015, during his tenure from 2014 to 2017.

Furthermore, Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that club president Joan Laporta shares this sentiment with Deco, but one issue remains. According to their information, the manager has a contract with PSG until 2025, and the club can’t afford to pay his release clause.

Considering the Spanish club’s financial situation, the report is likely accurate regarding the inability to pay the release clause. If Enrique is committed to PSG, it’s hard to envision the Parisians wanting to move off the 53-year-old this summer.
