Barcelona Receives Boost as PSG’s Interest in Liverpool Sensation Cools

On Wednesday, several reports surfaced linking Liverpool standout Luis Díaz to Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club could look to replace the outgoing Kylian Mbappé, who is reportedly departing after the season.

Nonetheless, new information is emerging about the Parisians’ interest in the Colombian winger. Two reports came out late Wednesday, one by France Info’s Julien Froment, stating that PSG aren’t interested in Díaz.

Additionally, Froment’s information reveals that it’s just former sporting director Antero Henrique, who still works for PSG in some capacity, pushing to place him in Paris because he has financial interests in the potential deal.

Meanwhile, RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, who originally broke the story of the Ligue 1 side’s interest in the Liverpool star, also issued a follow-up report. He notes that sporting advisor Luis Campos is not very keen on Díaz; therefore, his profile is not unanimous, which complicates things.

However, internally, others like the 27-year-old Colombian winger, so this file will be interesting to follow to see if Campos comes around on Díaz or perhaps he gets his way and the club pursues another player.

Still, all this information is good news for FC Barcelona as they’re keen on the player. However, the Spanish giants have been told he is not for sale, with Díaz being a key part of Liverpool’s long-term plans.

The former FC Porto star is under contract until 2027 and has a transfer value of €75 million, so Barcelona could continue with its interest in the player, or perhaps PSG could decide to revisit the file and get serious about its pursuit.
