Barcelona Veteran Expects Emotional Clash with PSG Star in UCL Quarterfinals

Ousmane Dembélé left FC Barcelona last summer, and in less than 12 months, the Frenchman will return to face the Catalan side after the UEFA Champions League draw saw them face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals.

Dembélé still has friends in the dressing room and knows what the 26-year-old can do on the pitch. In an interview with TV3, Robert Lewandowski stressed that this matchup could bring out the best in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, who will have an extra chip on his shoulder.

“Not only Kylian Mbappé, but also other players like Ousmane Dembélé,” Lewandowski said (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “I believe this match could be very emotional for him.”

Dembélé isn’t alone who will be making his return to face Barcelona. PSG manager Luis Enrique will be up against his former club and coaching against Xavi Hernandez, who he had as a player. As a result, Enrique might have the edge in the coaching matchup.

The winner of this matchup will face either Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund, so a victory will have PSG or Barcelona on a clear path to the final in London.
