Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires. Many expect the 25-year-old to join Real Madrid as a free agent, and FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently shared his questions about how this signing will work out.
Laporta spoke with Mundo Deportivo and stated the potential problems that Real Madrid would face if Mbappé joined them this summer. The club chief touched on the economic and dressing issues he sees on the horizon.
Nonetheless, El Chiringuito’s José Luis Sánchez believes that Laporta’s comments are sour grapes because Real Madrid can sign these players while Barcelona remain in financial trouble.
“Laporta would walk from Barcelona to Paris for Mbappé,” Sánchez said on Thursday’s program. “His comments reflect someone lacking economic capacity due to his poor management, resorting to banners and embracing mannequins. He’s criticizing a brilliant management that enables signing the world’s top players. As a major rival, he’s attempting to destabilize.”

For years, Barcelona could compete with Real Madrid due to having Lionel Messi. However, now that the Argentine is gone, and their Spanish rival can still spend to lure world-class players, the next few years could be challenging for the Catalan side if their financial situation doesn’t improve.
