Barcelona Executive Warns Real Madrid: Major Concerns Ahead if PSG Superstar Arrives

Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires. Many expect the 25-year-old to join Real Madrid as a free agent, and while there’s excitement over the squad they’ll have, FC Barcelona questions whether the move will work out.

The Catalan club’s sporting director, Deco, was the first to cite an issue with Mbappé arriving at Real Madrid, noting the tactical concern that the Frenchman might bring. However, Deco isn’t the only one from the Spanish club citing problems that they see from a tactical perspective.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke with Mundo Deportivo and stated the potential problems that Real Madrid face should Mbappé join them this summer.

“There’s a problem there,” Laporta told the Spanish media outlet. “They’ll have to sell a player (if Mbappé arrives), right? Because they won’t both play in the same position, and they’re very prominent players. And speaking of the figures involved, this will surely disrupt the dressing room. It’s not going to be easy.”

In a separate interview, Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal pointed out that if the Spanish giants secure the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, it won’t just be their team reaping the rewards of his arrival. Carvajal asserts that La Liga will benefit from Mbappé’s joining the league.
