Barcelona Ace Not on PSG’s Radar Despite Reports, Expert Says

As Paris Saint-Germain prepares to assemble a squad without Kylian Mbappé, they are considering strengthening their midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window. While numerous names emerge, one name can now be eliminated from consideration.

Over the past few weeks, PSG has been linked to FC Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong. The Spanish club will need to make hard decisions and sell players if they want to improve the squad next season. One name that could be out is de Jong.

However, journalist Ben Jacobs notes that if de Jong does leave the Catalan side, it won’t be for the French capital. Despite PSG taking advantage of Barcelona last year with Ousmane Dembélé, they won’t do that again with de Jong.

“PSG is currently not following De Jong,” Jacobs wrote for CaughtOffside (h/t Le10Sport).

Undoubtedly, the transfer market has the potential to change, and if the Parisians miss out on specific midfield targets, they might revert to square one. Nevertheless, it appears that the Dutchman is not an option for PSG to reinforce that position.
